Chris' 26th Birthday!

Chris Schobey, July 8th. I got him a Cold Stone cake which was delicious. We also went to Six Flags on his birthday. Texas Giant stinks, no one should ever go on it again. I'm pretty sure I got whiplash. The rest of the rides were good. We had a fun time. It was hot so by the end of the day we were pretty tired. But it was a good day. We celebrated Chris' birthday for about three days. He doesn't get the week long celebration like me. :)

July Stuff

With gas so expensive we did a "staycation" and went to Ft. Worth to hang out for the weekend. Stayed in a nice hotel, ate some good food, just had some good time together. We really want to go on a cruise this year so we are trying to save up some money. On our way home we stopped by TCU, Zach's alma mater.
4th of July with Chris and Mara DeRamcy. We hung out downtown McKinney for awhile. Got some ice cream, checked out some shops. Mara and Chris are expecting their baby boy in August. Exciting.
We were hanging out at an outdoor concert and Chris tried on Chris' hat. A little small. :) And yes, we shouldn't have friends with the same name and either of us.
After the fireworks.

The next day I went to a wedding of this couple that works at the church. They are a great couple. Kyle and Jessica Hendrickson. Beautiful wedding. Chris had to work that day so I went with my friend Meredith.

Accident

Blow dryers are crazy sometimes. I was blow drying my hair on Monday morning and it stopped for a second so I shook it a little, it started again and as I was putting back up to my head, it started shooting sparks and fire out of the cord where it connects to the blow dryer. I threw it down and it stopped sparking but it had burned my wrist pretty badly. I went to the doctor and found out I had a second degree burn. I took pics of the nasty burn, but I figured you guys wouldn't like to see those. The bandaged me and gave me a tetanus shot which hurt worse than the burn. that shot hurt for a week. And a couple days before that I scraped my arm on the corner of my mirror. So here is a picture of all my ailments.

Kylee Turns 27 and Zane Comes to Visit

Well, I'm 27. One year older and smarter. :) It was a great birthday week. Yes, we celebrate my birthday for a whole week. One fun thing a day. I asked for an exercise bike as my birthday present and Chris actually got me one. Just to clarify, he does not think I need to lose weight, I asked for the bike.

Zane was our first visitor from NM. It was great to have him here. We bonded over the wonderful red licorice. I used to go to Zane's apt on campus when we both lived in Las Cruces and I would eat his red licorice. Yummy.
Here he is looking all GQ with his licorice. Funny.
Then just some funny pics of me and Chris. I don't know about us. Maybe we have too much time on our hands.

First Rangers game

Our dear friends, Kim and Erwin Hancock, took us to a Rangers game. My first pro sports game and Chris' second. It was fun. Erwin looking all smoldery and stuff in the backgroud of that pic. We were really close to the field and there were a ton of homeruns that game. Chris and I also were on the KissCam. Right before it came on we were like, I wonder how the pick the people to be on the KissCam. Then we were watching and we showed up on there. I was thinking, that's us, what do we do? Obviously, kiss right?

New Cowboy stadium in Arlington. It's huge. We took this pic from the top of the Rangers stadium.

New Haircut and Me and Mom

I got a new haircut. A little shorter. It's alot longer now. Texas makes my hair grow faster. Weird.
I flew back to Roswell to see my mom. Had to document that with at least one picture. I don't know, do we look alike?

Just fun pics of the Schobey's

At our last apt complex they had figures or statues all over. We went for a walk one day and decided to take a pic on this dog. Chris is so funny.
I like to match our clothes sometimes. Chris came to see me for lunch and the ladies at work thought it was cute that we were matching. We took a pic.
And here I am matching my clothes to the cake I made for work.............Just kidding. I noticed that after we took the pic. We have staff birthdays once a month and I love to bake, so this is the cake I made. It was delicious.
Just us taking pics of us. I like to document how we look every once in a while. I don't know why my lower lip looks so big in the picture but it does. Weird. And lately Chris doesn't like to take regular pictures. I was showing off my America's Next Top Model face.
Texas highways or interstates. I still don't know the difference.
We took a relaxing day and drove around. We were looking for a Cracker Barrel and thought for sure we could find one just driving down the highway but we couldn't. Turns out there are only a few in the metroplex. So we settled for The Original Pancake House. It was pretty good, but it's no Cracker Barrel.

On our way back home we hit traffic so this is us keeping entertained. Oh yes, and me in in my glasses. I had to get glasses after we were married. I told Chris is was his fault. My eyes were just fine before that. :)

The Dallas Zoo

Chris' mom Debbie, sister Kim, and her foster kid Caden, came to Dallas to hang out and check out the zoo. Chris had to work that day, so it was just us girls and Caden. It's actually a pretty neat zoo. They had this great elephant fountain. It was so neat.

Tornado, freaking me out!

Ok, when I moved to Texas, no one told me there is a tornado season. So one night Chris and I are sitting in our apt watching TV and I hear a siren. Chris is like ok, you might want to go put on some jeans and a jacket just in case. And I'm like, just in case what? So he explains to me the tornado sirens and tornado season. Fun, right? So I get a little used to the sirens and the tornado warnings on TV. Well one night I woke up at 4am because our apt building was shaking like crazy because of the wind and rain. I am freaking out because we live on the fourth floor and I'm thinking the building is going to fall down. I look out the window and I can't see anything because there is so much rain. I shake Chris to get him up and he's not very good at being alert in the night. So I'm like telling him I think there's really something wrong like there's really a tornado out there. He looks out the window and it kindof died down a little. So we go back to sleep. The next morning we get up and low and behold there were tornados all over the place and one actually hit our apt community. The pics above are of a staircase that came off the wall on a building close to ours. Thank goodness that was the last of the tornado scares for this tornado season.

Life in Texas

My work, Cottonwood Creek Baptist Church. Great place with some great people. I love it. The admin staff just having fun.
Chris' work, The Haven at Eldorado, McKinney, TX

Chris hard at work. Yeah right.
The last pic is of a place we went to eat. They have some good eats here with some interesting names.

Roswell

Chris and I went to go see my mom in March. If you guys don't know, my parents got a divorce. So, we went down to help my mom move to a new place. No worries. The Lord is great and will be the calm in the midst of this storm. So of course, we had to go to Popo's.

Hilarious!

I had to get a pic of this and let you guys see it. I woke up one morning with my hair like this. It was crazy. It was like all of my hair wanted to stick straight up. So funny. People need to laugh at least once a day, so this is your chance. :)

Winter pic and Valentine's Day

Just some pics of us. The first one is just us sometime this past winter. It got pretty cold so I had layers of clothes on. The rest are of Valentines Day. We had a good dinner at a restuarant in Addison that night. Then we walked through this park with a fountain. Kinda cheesy pics but just thought I would share.
